Vasavaleha is used in the treatment of cough, asthma, bronchitis, pain abdomen, bleeding disorders and fever. It acts as broncho - dilator and antimicrobial.
Traditional Indications:
- Rajayakshma - chronic bronchitis, tuberculosis
- Kasa - cold, cough
- Shwasa - asthma, respiratory disorders involving difficulty in breathing
- Parshvashoola - pain on the sides of abdomen - flanks
- Hrut Shoola - cardiac pain
- Raktapitta - bleeding disorders like nasal bleeding, Ulcerative colitis and menorrhagia
- Jwara - fever
Vasavaleha Dose
- 6 - 12 grams once or two times a day before or after food or as directed by Ayurvedic doctor.
- It is usually administered with milk / honey / warm water
- Dosage for children below 5 years of age - 1 - 2 grams, once or twice a day, along with a teaspoon of honey or warm water / milk.
- Dosage for children between 5 - 12 years of age - 5 grams once or twice a day along with a teaspoon of honey or warm water / milk.
